 Part 5: It Starts With You


A Great Awakening won’t start in Washington, Hollywood, or Wall Street — it starts with you.


Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” If we want to see our nation come back into alignment, we have to hunger for righteousness — personally, deeply, every day.


You must want it. You must pray for it. And then you must walk it out.


Walking the walk means following Jesus closely — letting Him light the path before you. It means choosing to do what is right even when it’s hard, even when it’s costly, even when it feels like no one else is doing it.


My moral code is the same as it’s always been: you can’t go wrong doing what’s right. If you want to see a reformation, if you want revival, start with yourself. Let God search your heart, align your steps with His Word, and then live it out where He has placed you.


Change begins one person at a time — and it can start today. It’s a choice.

 Part 4: The Only Way Forward — Reformation, Revival, and a Fresh Awakening. 

Historically nations turn when God’s people turn. The first Great Awakening reshaped the spiritual climate of the colonies and paved the way for freedom. The second Great Awakening spurred reform and pushed the church back into the public square.


I believe we are ready — and desperate — for a Third Great Awakening! 


For me, the answer is not better politics or louder voices. The answer is a spiritual reformation that starts with God’s people returning to the truth of His Word, repenting where we’ve compromised, and realigning our lives with His ways. Reformation comes before revival.


And when revival comes, it awakens the conscience of a nation. It stirs hearts, heals divisions, and re-centers society on God’s code.


My moral code hasn’t changed: you can’t go wrong doing what’s right. But we need more than individuals quietly doing what’s right. We need a movement of believers boldly living out their faith — in government, business, education, media, and every sphere of influence.


That’s what will bring America back into alignment. That’s what will put God’s laws above man’s laws again. And that’s what will turn this moment into the start of something new — not just for us, but for generations to come.

 Part 3: Beyond Labels — Walking the Walk


If Part 1 is about our foundation and Part 2 is about how far we’ve drifted, Part 3 is about what we do next.


In today’s world, people who hold to a very literal view of Scripture and want to live in a nation based on it are often labeled “Christian Nationalists.” Most of them are simply believers trying to live by the code God has written on their hearts. They want to see a nation that reflects God’s ways, where doing what is right brings man’s laws and God’s laws back into alignment. Yes, there are extremist but they are not as in most cases the majority. 


The real problem is not everyone has real faith. It’s when faith is misrepresented by those who don’t walk the walk. Too often, some who speak the loudest about righteousness end up looking like the religious leaders in Jesus’ day — inventing rules for others that they don’t live by themselves or walk the walk. 


That’s not what we need right now. What we need is truth and authenticity — leaders and citizens who live what they believe, who refuse to compartmentalize their faith, and who do the right thing because it’s right. I call it a congruent life. 


My moral code is still the same: you can’t go wrong doing what’s right. That is what will turn the tide in this nation — not labels, not empty arguments, not trying to please everyone — but walking the walk.


When believers live out their faith with consistency and courage, we bring light into dark places. And that’s what this moment calls for — Christians who act like Christians.

Part 2: When a Nation is Out of Alignment


If Part 1 reminds us where we came from, Part 2 is about where we are now — and it’s not where we started.


Today, too many of our government officials act as if they must make decisions in a vacuum, completely void of the God of the Bible. It’s as if faith has been pushed to the side — or worse, treated as a threat.


But God never called us to check our faith at the door of public life. Living a life of faith means living consistently. My moral code hasn’t changed: you can’t go wrong doing what’s right. And doing what’s right doesn’t stop when we step into the workplace, the voting booth, the courtroom, or the halls of government.


When leaders try to govern apart from the code God has written on our hearts, we get what we see today — confusion, conflict, and a culture that bends with every passing wind.


The solution isn’t more compromise. It isn’t trying to appease everyone. It’s a return to conviction — to leading and living as Christians again, with the courage to stand on what is right even when it’s unpopular.


We don’t need perfect leaders. We need leaders whose hearts are aligned with God. That’s when our laws, our culture, and our future start coming back into alignment.


We are the ones who vote. We must vote for those who are real and ready to govern by God’s moral code and abide by our Constitution. Then hold them accountable. Yes, fundamental change is needed.

 Part 1 of 5.


Part 1: Our Nation’s Foundation — Built on a Moral Code


God is in control, but He depends on His people to act and we must act as Christians. Saying God is in control, but not doing anything about it is wrong. My moral code is simple: you can’t go wrong doing what’s right. James 4:17 says, “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” 


This is more than a personal motto — it’s a command to live out my faith in every area of my life. That’s exactly why so many came to this land in the first place: to live freely according to God’s code. They wanted to live out their faith without persecution. Can’t do that now! 


The early settlers didn’t just bring their possessions — they brought their values. Those shared Christian convictions became the moral framework that shaped our nation and its government.


For them, faith wasn’t private or optional — it was the lens through which they governed. They didn’t rule as wandering generalities trying to keep everyone happy. They led with clarity, convinced that their responsibility was first to God, then to the people.


That’s why it’s misleading when some claim that faith never played a role in our founding. The truth is, our Constitution is a neutral, brilliant document, but it takes on character,  even a Christian character, when administered by leaders whose hearts are aligned with God.


And that’s where we find ourselves today: a nation out of alignment. The further we drift from the moral code that formed us, the more divided and confused we become. If we want to heal as a nation, we must return to living and leading by the code God has written on our hearts.

Covenant vs. Government: Seeing Nations Through God’s Eyes

 


We share a common God, but not a common covenant — and that is the key difference.


God’s plan for humanity is revealed in two covenants: one with His chosen people (Israel) and one with His children (the Church). They are not the same, but they flow from the same God. Each has a different order, a different purpose, and a different outcome.


When we confuse them, we lose clarity. When we look through the eyes of covenant, everything comes into focus — including how we view governments and nations today.

Covenant Lasts — Governments Don’t


Governments rise and fall, but covenant is eternal. Hebrews 12 draws a vivid contrast between two mountains:

  • Mount Sinai – The mountain of the old covenant. It was fearful and trembling, marked by fire, darkness, and a trumpet blast. It represents law, judgment, and separation from God.
  • Mount Zion – The mountain of the new covenant. It is joyful, filled with angels, the Church of the firstborn, and Jesus, the mediator of the New Covenant. It represents grace, intimacy, and access to God.

God is telling us: you are not at Sinai anymore — you are part of a kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28).


Israel and America: Different Plans, One Sovereign God

God’s covenant with Israel is unique, unchanging, and still in effect (Romans 11). It includes land, lineage, and promises tied to a specific nation.


America, while sovereignly birthed, is not a covenant nation in the same sense. Our founders recognized that our rights are given by God, not government. That truth is powerful, but it does not make America equal to Israel in God’s plan.


Our identity as Americans does not come from our government structures — it comes from the sovereign God who placed us here for His purpose.


Why This Perspective Matters

When we see nations through the lens of covenant:


  • We stop idolizing government — God’s Kingdom isn’t built on elections or policies.
  • We stop despising government — it is God’s servant for justice and order (Romans 13).
  • We anchor our hope in what cannot be shaken — God’s covenant plan, not man-made systems.


This keeps us steady when governments shift and cultures shake.


The Christian’s Charge


Christians are dual citizens — heaven first, and the nation where God placed us second. Our job is to:


  • Pray for our leaders.
  • Honor those in authority.
  • Live out Kingdom values among the people God has placed us with.

But our ultimate allegiance is always to covenant, not government.


The Bottom Line


Two covenants. One God. Two different orders, one ultimate plan.


Governments come and go, but God’s covenants endure. When we look at both Israel and America through the eyes of covenant, we see His plan with fresh clarity — and we find our identity not in man-made systems but in God’s eternal promises.


“Therefore, since we are receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” – Hebrews 12:28

Charlie Kirk and the 7 Mountains of Influence


There’s a framework that helps explain how culture is shaped — the 7 Mountains of Influence. These are the seven key spheres that steer the direction of society: Family, Government, Religion, Education, Media, Arts & Entertainment, and Business.


Whoever leads these mountains will shape the future of a nation:

Family – The foundation of values, morality, and identity.

Government – Sets the laws and policies that determine justice and freedom.

Religion – Shapes spiritual life, ethics, and purpose.

Education – Trains the next generation’s thinking and worldview.

Media – Frames the conversation and influences public opinion.

Arts & Entertainment – Shapes what a culture celebrates.

Business – Drives economic well-being and empowers the other mountains.


Passages like Isaiah 2:2 and Micah 4:1 describe the “mountain of the Lord’s house” being exalted above all others. Revelation 17:9 mentions “seven mountains,” which many see as symbolic of the systems that govern the world. Together, these verses call believers to bring Kingdom influence into every sphere of life — not just inside the four walls of the church.

The problem is that the senseless loss of life has become secondary. Across the news media, the headlines now focus on the clashes between detractors and attractors — and sadly, that’s the world we live in.


What we can do is choose to understand this reality and not let emotions rule our response. Each of us comes from a societal mountain and culture we identify with, and if we don’t guard our hearts, it’s easy to get distracted and drawn into the drama playing out on the world stage.


The future will acknowledge the life of Charlie Kirk — only God knows what that will look like. He’s the high mountain over the seven mountains and makes the final decisions. But at this moment in time, we should pray for Charlie’s family, friends, and associates — and respond to his death in a Christlike manner. And if you are not a Christian, you can still choose to take the moral high ground and honor the life he lived and the values he represented.
