What does success look like in God’s Kingdom? While the world defines success by wealth, power, or accolades, the Bible teaches us a different approach. Success in God’s Kingdom is rooted in timeless laws that align our lives with His divine order. These Kingdom laws guide us toward purpose, provision, and fulfillment.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus gave us the foundation for success:
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Pat Robertson, in his book The Secret Kingdom, identified eight Kingdom laws that govern success. These laws are unchanging, much like the law of gravity—they work whether we acknowledge them or not. When we live by these laws, we align with God’s design and experience true success.
1. The Law of Reciprocity: What You Give Comes Back to You
The first Kingdom law teaches that what you give, you will receive. Jesus said in Luke 6:38:
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.”
This law applies to every area of life:
• Kindness: When you give compassion and encouragement, it returns to you.
• Generosity: When you give to others and to God, you open the door to His blessings.
As Malachi 3:10 promises, God rewards those who give faithfully with blessings too great to contain.
How to follow this law:
Be generous with your time, talents, and resources. Trust that God will multiply your efforts and meet your needs.
2. The Law of Use: Use It or Lose It
God gives each of us unique gifts, talents, and opportunities. This law reminds us that we must use them. In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), the servant who buried his talent out of fear lost everything, while those who invested their talents were rewarded.
This law is clear: If you don’t use it, you lose it. Faithful stewardship of what God entrusts to us opens the door for greater opportunities and blessings.
How to follow this law:
Identify the gifts and resources God has given you. Use them to serve others and advance His Kingdom. Be proactive, not passive.
3. The Law of Perseverance: Never Give Up
Kingdom success requires perseverance. Jesus emphasized this in Luke 11:9-10:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
The Law of Perseverance reminds us to keep praying, working, and trusting God, even when results are not immediate. Perseverance builds faith and strengthens our character.
How to follow this law:
• Stay committed to the dreams and goals God has placed in your heart.
• Trust His timing and remain faithful in the waiting.
4. The Law of Responsibility: You Reap What You Sow
This law highlights our accountability for what we do with what God has entrusted to us. Galatians 6:7 says:
“Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
Our actions, choices, and efforts have consequences. To succeed, we must take responsibility for our lives and honor God in everything we do.
How to follow this law:
Be intentional about sowing seeds of diligence, faithfulness, and kindness. Recognize that your choices today shape your future.
5. The Law of Greatness: Serve to Lead
In God’s Kingdom, greatness is found in serving others. Jesus redefined leadership in Matthew 20:26-27:
“Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.”
This law teaches us that true influence and impact come through humility and a heart for others.
How to follow this law:
• Look for opportunities to serve your family, church, and community.
• Embrace humility as a path to true greatness.
6. The Law of Miracles: Faith Unlocks the Impossible
This law reminds us that faith activates God’s supernatural power. Jesus declared in Mark 9:23:
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Whether it’s provision, healing, or breakthrough, miracles happen when we trust God and step out in faith.
How to follow this law:
• Believe in God’s promises, even when circumstances seem impossible.
• Pray boldly and trust that God can do more than you can imagine.
7. The Law of Dominion: Exercise Authority
God gave humanity dominion over creation from the very beginning (Genesis 1:26-28). This law calls us to live with authority and purpose, managing what God has entrusted to us in alignment with His will.
How to follow this law:
• Take ownership of your work, relationships, and resources.
• Use your God given authority to take control of your life.
8. The Law of Unity: Strength in Togetherness
Unity brings strength and blessing. Psalm 133:1-3 emphasizes the power of harmony:
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity… For there the Lord commanded the blessing.”
When believers work together with shared purpose, they accomplish far more than they could alone.
How to follow this law:
• Foster unity in your family, church, and community.
• Focus on collaboration and shared goals rather than differences.
Living by Kingdom Laws
These eight Kingdom laws—reciprocity, use, perseverance, responsibility, greatness, miracles, dominion, and unity—are the foundation for a successful and fulfilling life. They help us align with God’s design, experience His blessings, and fulfill His purpose.
Steps to Start Today:
1. Choose one law to focus on this week. For example, practice generosity (the Law of Reciprocity) or persevere in prayer (the Law of Perseverance).
2. Reflect on how you’re applying these laws in your daily life.
3. Pray for wisdom to live according to God’s Kingdom principles.
Final Thought:
Success in life isn’t about chasing wealth or accolades; it’s about living in alignment with God’s unchanging laws. When we embrace these Kingdom laws, we not only unlock God’s blessings but also live as a light to those around us. Which law will you start applying today? Let’s live them out and experience the abundant life God has promised!
